Police Warn Of New Credit Card Scam

The people are being warned by the Madison police about a new texting scam that asks respondents to give up their confidential credit card information.

Authorities have been notified by a dozen of local people that they have received a text message in which there is an information for them that they have a credit card that has been deactivated.

Those who received this message are then instructed to call 237-6959. When a person calls there the taped message at that number asks the callers to type in their credit card number.

People are being urged by the police that they should ignore these texts, as these are nothing but a credit card fraud.So be aware of them!
